Rosalind is a soprano from Sussex, who has recently completed her BMUS (Hons) in vocal studies at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, currently under the tutelage of David Pollard. 


Rosalind began performing in her childhood where she was originally a trumpet player and co principal in the National Children's orchestra. Singing and acting then took over in her early teens when she performed in a range of classical (and jazz) concerts, plays and musical theatre.  She also had the opportunity to travel to the USA on an orchestral tour to New Jersey and New York as principal trumpet of the Bedes symphony orchestra, and soprano soloist. During her time at Bedes School (as a music scholar) she took part  in all the major musical events - both singing and playing trumpet, including external performances. Acting roles included: Young Scrooge in Scrooge, the Persian in Ken Hill's Phantom of the Opera, Mr Darling in Peter Pan and six different characters in The Laramie Project. 

During her time at the GSMD she performed regularly in concerts and recitals both in the School and with outside organizations; she has also organised several events herself, including charity concerts as well as singing at weddings. She has been given numerous opportunities to perform at the Barbican including singing in the chorus of Mahler's Symphony No.2 in C minor 'Resurrection' with the BBC Symphony Orchestra; the chorus in GSMD's performance of Carl Orff's Carmina Burana and a beggar/servant girl in the LSO’s semi-staged production of Pelleas et Melisande by Debussy, directed by Peter Sellars and conducted by Simon Rattle.

In 2015 her performances included her opera debut as Blanche, in a reduced version of Poulenc's 'Dialogue of the Carmelites' at GSMD, a recital at Firle Place and the chorus in the GSMD opera course production of Wolf-Ferrari's Le Donne Curiose. 


Her roles in 2016 included: Magda in Opera Coast's reduced production of Puccini's La Rondine, Anna in Brent Opera's production of Donizetti's Maria Stuarda and Countess in Kings Opera's production of Mozart's Le Nozze di Figaro. Other performances that year included a contemporary recital at the Courtauld Institute, opera scenes at GSMD as Donna Anna in Don Giovanni and the Countess in Le Nozze di Figaro, as well as taking part in British Youth Opera workshops as 1st lady from Mozart's Die Zauberflote. Rosalind was also a finalist in the Chartered Surveyors Competition at GSMD.


Rosalind is very much looking forward to an engaging future in opera and plans on auditioning for every opportunity that comes up; she will is currently auditioning for all of the major opera house choruses and young artist programmes in the UK and in the meantime will continue to perform regularly at events and recitals throughout London and the South East of England.
